  • From Nanook to Oumigmag: Documentary Film in Canada  
    A curated exhibit (by the Cinematheque Quebecois) about Canadian documentary film. Features a timeline of notable events in Canadian documentary filmmaking, biographies of directors, profiles of companies that have produced documentaries, information on common recording equipment and processes, and a guide to the topics Canadian documentaries most often cover.   • German Film Service  
    The German Film Service is the "national information and advisory center for the promotion of German films worldwide." Its website features coverage of German cinema on the world market, particularly in international film festivals. The GFS also provides statistics on German production and distribution, as well as analyses of other national markets.
  • German Hollywood Connection  
    This website features short introductory articles on the artistic and economic connections between American and German film workers from the earliest days of the industry to the present.

  • Grace Street Theater: Seventy Years of Film and Dance  
    A richly documented history of one theater in Richmond, Virginia.
  • Greek Film Center  
    Search by title or browse by director to get information on many Greek films, both contemporary and classic. For each film there is a synopsis, cast and crew information, and technical specifications. Some of the more recent entries feature stills and film clips. In English.
  • Harappa Film Archive  
    This site hosts a collection of archival film from South Asia, with a particular focus on the Indian and Pakistani independence struggles and the early history of Pakistan. View short excerpts on the site or contact the archive to purchase a video transfer of any of this rare material.
  • Histoire du Cinema Marocain  
    A database of important Moroccan national productions, dating back to 1952, including a short synopsis of each film. In French and Arabic, with some English.
  • History in Motion  
    This site features clips from newsreels, early documentary films, and early narrative films such as The Great Train Robbery. Browse clips by topic, title, and date. History in Motion is the moving image section of Eyewitness to History, a site that compiles photos, first person accounts, and other historical primary sources for students. The film section focuses primarily on American history.

    This website reproduces papers delivered at the Third Australian History and Film Conference, held in Perth in 1985. These essays, many by well-known scholars, represent a diverse array of approaches to the study of film and history.
  • Hong Kong Film Archive Search  
    Search in English for items that are available in the physical collection, including books, films, and audio recordings.     Database of UK television listings from 1955 through 1985. Available only to British students.
  • Ingmar Bergman Face to Face  
    A comprehensive source for information about Bergman's films, theatrical work, and writings, published by the Ingmar Bergman Foundation in Sweden. The site contains a detailed filmography, which features a synopsis, still images, interviews, and writings about each film, as well as a bibliography of Bergman's own writing. In English and Swedish.

    Thirteen propaganda films, many by top documentary filmmakers, commissioned by the U.S. government during World War II.
  • Internet Archive: German Cinema Collection  
    This section of the Internet Archive features 51 works of "other cinema" by the German filmmaker Lutz Mommartz.
  • Irish Film and Television Network  
    This website covers all aspects of the film industry in Ireland. Contains data on the economics of film production in Ireland, the global distribution of Irish cinema, and the trends of the Irish box office.
  • Irish Film Board  
    The Irish Film Board finances and encourages the production of films in Ireland. The website provides information on the financing and locations of films shot in Ireland; it also features a directory of recently produced feature films, television series, documentary films, and short films produced in Ireland.
