  • Paley Center for Media  
    The Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio) collects radio and TV programs and advertisements. The museum has about 120,000 pieces of programming. The museum has two locations: one in New York City and one in Los Angeles.
  • Parajanov.com  
    Biography and filmography of the Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov, maintained by his friend and fellow filmmaker Mikhail Vardanov. Also includes a photo gallery.

    Participations is an online, peer-reviewed journal of audience research and reception studies. It is published twice yearly and back issues are archived within the website.
  • Paul Schrader

  • PBS 30-Second Candidate  
    An interactive online exhibit about the history and production of presidential campaign commercials, featuring a historical timeline and clips of interviews with campaign-ad experts. The site also is host to a short video emphasizing the craft of creating commercials (and its similarity to the craft of cinema) and a dissection of how the famous "Eisenhower Answers America" ads were created.

    The official site of Peter Watkins, which includes original essays in which the filmmaker writes about his artistic intentions and inspirations. Includes a detailed filmography with director's commentary on each film.
  • PFA Cinefiles  
    The Pacific Film Archive conducts primary source research for the films it shows and has posted the results of that research. The database includes reviews, press kits, festival and showcase program notes, newspaper articles, and more, covering more than 30,000 films. Materials that are not copyright-protected are available (usually as .GIF or .JPG files) for download.
  • Political Advertising Resource Center  
    PARC's website compiles campaign advertising from recent elections and analyzes voter reactions to the ads. Also, their "Campaign 2008" section includes a running archive of ads, including transcripts.
  • Political Spot Advertising Bibliography  
    A bibliography of print resources about political advertisements.
  • Prelinger Library   Peer Reviewed
    The official website for the physical collection of the Prelinger Library in San Francisco. The library contains "40,000 books, periodicals, printed ephemera and government documents," many of which pertain to television and media, and to industrial/educational film production.
  • Preston Sturges Site  
    The official website, run by the filmmaker's family. Includes a photo gallery and bibliography.
  • Ralph Baer  
    A site developed and maintained by Ralph Baer, inventor of the home video game. Includes design documents and patents.
  • Ray Carney  
    The official website of Ray Carney, a leading critic and scholar on American independent film and art film. The website has three sections with selections from Carney's lectures, interviews, and writing: the John Cassavetes Pages, the Independent Film Pages, and Film and Other Arts Pages.
  • RCA TV Equipment Archive  
    A hobbyist maintains this website, which is full of photos and information about television cameras and broadcast equipment from RCA.
  • Refractory: a Journal of Entertainment Media   Peer Reviewed
    A refereed, peer-reviewed e-journal that explores the diverging and intersecting aspects of current and past entertainment media (including animation, film, television, games, and the Internet). The journal is published by the Cinema Studies Program, School of Culture and Communication, University of Melbourne.

    With the acquisition of Nielsen EDI in 2010, Rentrak established Rentrak International Box Office Essentials to provide instant data on a film's box office performance.
  • Representation of African Americans in Film & Television: A Bibliography   Peer Reviewed
    A very thorough bibliography focusing on college-level books and articles about the cultural representation of African Americans in media. The resources listed are available in the UC Berkeley library, but many of the books can be found elsewhere.
